I think one thing that helps is to just talk about awareness. No one wants you to pay a $5000 “bad guy” tax, no one is asking you to only hire women from now on, etc. Some of these problems are inescapable – if blacks stay at the current % if theYou Drink With Me Around A Campfire shirt population, even if everyone gets enlightened, they will usually have white bosses, for example. The goal is to be aware of these facts and just be sympathetic. That goes a long way. Then understanding deepens and maybe advocacy can come later.
